Judith Lauwers, BA, IBCLC
Book: Counseling the Nursing Mother

Judith Lauwers, BA, IBCLC was raised in Michigan and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University. She and her family have been residents of Pennsylvania since 1975. Judi is cofounder and Executive Director of Breastfeeding Support Consultants, founded in 1981. She is a founding member of the International Lactation Consultant Association and was on the Panel of Experts for the first exam offered by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners. Her presentations focus on counseling, humor and ethics. She is coauthor of Counseling the Nursing Mother and Breastfeeding Today. Judi served as Conference Planner for ILCA in 1989-1990 and on the ILCA board of directors in 1995-1996 and 2002-2004. Judi presently serves as the Interim Education Coordinator for ILCA. She resides in Chalfont, Pennsylvania with her husband Dave. They have two sons, Michael sand Christopher.
